Being professionally assessed will allow your child (or you as an adult), to know your strengths and weaknesses. There are many, interventions, strategies and tools that can successfully manage conditions and help bring out the best of your abilities.

A full psychoeducational assessment is a long process. It generally takes 4-6 weeks depending on response times.
A psychoeducational assessment involves conducting a cognitive assessment; an academic assessment; long term memory testing and an auditory processing assessment. It will also include behavioural assessments, ADHD assessment/screening and ASD screening.
Cognitive assessment measures the individual's overall intellectual ability (or IQ), as well as identification of specific areas of cognitive strength and challenge.
I use three test batteries to complete a cognitive assessment:
1. WISC-V Testing
The Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children - Fifth Edition, Australian Standard (WISC-V) is an individually administered and comprehensive clinical instrument used to assess the general thinking and reasoning skills of children aged six years to 16 years.
Test results include a Full-Scale Intelligence Quotient (IQ) score as well as age-equivalent rankings and scores for
2. Woodcock Johnson Tests of Cognitive Ability - Fourth Edition testing
3. The Comprehensive Test of Phonological Processing Second Edition (CTOPP-2) helps evaluate phonological processing abilities as a prerequisite to reading fluency.
Academic Achievement Assessment of a student's level of academic achievement helps determine where strengths and challenges are so that intervention and support can be targeted to areas of need.
I use the Woodcock-Johnson IV Tests of Achievement (WJ IV ACH) which measures basic skills, fluency, and application in reading, writing, and mathematics domains. I also use the the WJ-IV OL to test Oral Language.
If a school recommends classroom observation this will include an additional $250 charge. Diagnostic questionaires are administered to parents and teachers. Interviews with teachers and parents will be conducted when needed.
Questionnaires may include:
